Abandon Twitter (for another day at least)

Twitter remains fucked.
This went up yesterday:

Yeah, cheers for that small cat with screwdriver. Why am I not filled with confidence?

Cheers Mel, but I’m gonna walk.

I always miss these Twitter problems!
It’s getting to the point where the combination of outages and the amount of spam is really starting to put me off Twitter - in addition to the question of sustaining a network which I raised on my own blog.
For a year I defended Twitter to the hilt against new upstarts. I liked its ability to fall apart from time to time and often compared it to the Millennium Falcon.
Fuck it. I’m ready for something sleek. Jaiku? It’s huge in Scandinavia which I must confess makes it very tempting…
Jaiku does look interesting, albeit still seems to be closed to new sign-ups since being swallowed by Google. The thing that appeals to me is the Jaiku client for Symbian - I’m not a huge fan of S60, but given that I’m ninety percent certain that I’ll get a Nokia N95 anyway, the client should be useful, and I understand that it integrates pretty well with the phone.
Closed? I had no idea. I’ll sign in later (got an account ages ago) and see if there are any invites going.
George
By the time you make your mind up on the N95 it’ll be time to get an N96
If you have a spare invite, I would be very interested. As to the N95, I am completely incapable of making a quick decision on technology - which does at least mean that by the time I have finished my excessively nerdy research and decision-making process, the price of the chosen shiny thing has usually come down to a more tolerable level . . .
