visible monsters | GOT BRAINS?
I'm looking for an artist to collaborate with on a comic book.
If you like fucked up stuff and more importantly ENJOY drawing fucked up shit
then drop me a line. Below is a single page from my script for God's Acre.
A short piece of whimsy set mostly in a
London graveyard.
The full story involves one man's attempt to free as many of the recently reanimated
dead as possible. There's a reason for this and a nice little pay off at the
end. It'd be great to see this story brought to life.
Have a read of the sample page below and perhaps send me your version of how
the thing should look. I'm not looking for just an art monkey - I want to work
with someone. A love of good comics, movies and music is essential.
I look forward to having you freak me out. mikesizemore@gmail.com
GOD'S ACRE
PAGE FOUR (five panels: 2/1/2)
Pic 1;
Larry looks down into the grave, wiping sweat from his eyes. He’s uncovered
the coffin lid. Sarah is behind him and to the right.
LARRY; THERE YOU ARE. TOOK A WHILE BUT I'M HERE NOW.
LARRY; I BROUGHT A FRIEND.
LARRY; DON'T BE SCARED. I'M OPENING THE LID NOW.
Pic 2;
Larry is bent down out of sight. Sarah stays back away from the grave. She's
obviously terrified. She's holding the fire axe.
SARAH; THIS IS INSANE
LARRY; IT'LL BE FINE SARAH. I'VE DONE THIS A MILLION TIMES WITHOUT A SINGLE SCRATCH.
LARRY; AHH… THERE YOU ARE
Pic 3;
The open coffin fills the frame. It's occupant used to be male, but not any
more. Just another corpse. He's too feeble to do much but twitch a little. Been
in the ground too long. He's wearing the remains of his best suit stained with
body fluids. I'll leave the detail to you. His mouth and eyes are open but there's
no sound apart from the voices from above.
SARAH; OH FUCK…
LARRY; HE'S AS FORGOTTEN AS WE ARE. CAN YOU SEE NOW WHY WE HAVE TO HELP?
Pic 4;
Sarah looks down into the grave still gripping the fire axe. Her face has crumpled
into horror and disgust.
SARAH; WE'VE GOT TO KILL IT…
SARAH; …YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE OUT THERE
Pic 5;
Larry is kneeling partially in the coffin, the corpse is leaning against him,
helpless. Larry has his arms threaded under its arms and is holding it around
the chest, ready to heave it upwards towards Sarah…
LARRY; DON'T BE RIDICULOUS. HE'S GOT AS GOOD A CHANCE AS ANY OF THEM. ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS GET HIM OUT OF THIS DAMN HOLE!
