Didn’t get better than that did it?

I have a few of these kinds of things squirreled away for my talk in June. Not sure how long I have yet, but I will be talking about how Twitter (and the platforms that work so well with it) allow you to pull a few barriers down without the aid of Palitoy.

And speaking of set visits, following my day with Centurion, I just got invited to meet Hideo Nakata on the set of his new movie. More about that later…

The London Film Festival press screenings start on Monday. I got my press pass yesterday and because I’m incredibly busy at the moment (genre-crossing sci fi tv doesn’t just write itself you know) I was looking for a slightly different way of covering the films this year.

After a quick conversation with Christian and Sol I decided to do a series of pithy film reviews on 12 Seconds. I have no idea yet how I’ll boil down some of the best cinema in the world to only 12 seconds, but I’m looking forward to kicking this off. I will of course be doing more traditional text reviews to accompany the best (and maybe worst) of the festival this year, but with 3 films a day starting next week the short video content should soon add up…

I’ll be embedding the vids here of course, but you can always jump into 12 Seconds and record your own mini reviews. Can you sum up The Breakfast Club, Star Wars or Night of the Living Dead in so short a video? I’d love to find out…

I haven’t had the opportunity to get on Seesmic much since… well, I guess since going out to San Francisco and hanging with the Seesmic team. When I got back from that trip work just exploded and video was just too much a time suck. Over the last week or so I’ve been easing myself back into the video conversation arena, both on Seesmic and Phreadz.

Last night was my first sustained stab at conversation since Christian came over and we got drunk.

One of the longer running threads was about the vogue for comeback movies – older characters being brought back for another go at the franchise – sometimes with mixed results. I was keen to know what (probably unnecessary) sequels people would like to see and kicked things off with my need for a new Mad Max movie.

We soon had a good rambling squabble about Ghostbusters III, Big Trouble in Little China II and Three Men and a Little Crack Whore. Twas a fun night.

A lot of emotion came spilling out I’m glad to say and at one point we got this memorable post from Dana about James Spader:

This is why I missed Seesmic.
